Did you know that many of our students face challenges accessing basic necessities like hygiene products and school supplies? REFI CARES (Community Assistance & Resources Empowering Students) is working to change that. This Giving Tuesday, join us in making a difference! We’re launching a special campaign to collect supply donations and monetary contributions to support our community and those in need. We’re thrilled to announce a Matching Gift Challenge in honor of Susie Shomo—an absolute gem of an educator!
Susie has spent her career building the bedrock of education in the Shenandoah Valley, teaching at Spotswood High School, Blue Ridge Community College, and James Madison University. She’s been a cornerstone of the REFI Board of Directors since 2011, serving as Board President and on multiple committees. Her commitment to students and the community is truly rock-solid!
Now, your monetary gifts can go the extra mile! Every donation made through December 13 will be matched dollar-for-dollar, up to $5,000. Let’s dig deep, honor Susie’s passion for education, and help support local students!
