The Rockingham Educational Foundation, Inc. (REFI) is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit tax-exempt philanthropic organization that shares a vision of enhancing education in Rockingham County Public Schools (RCPS). We work to increase private support for educational activities that benefit students and staff and fosters creative approaches to education through early literacy, educational grants, scholarships, the teacher supply depot, and teacher recognition. REFI is managed by a volunteer Board of Directors made up of business, community, and educational leaders.

WHY SUPPORT REFI?
Rockingham County Public Schools (RCPS) has developed a quality educational program that provides students with enrichment, "Digital Conversion", and attention to special needs. Sustaining excellent educational programs and services requires technology, cultural experiences, resource materials and, primarily, outstanding teachers. Meeting the current and future educational needs of all students so that they may be productive citizens of tomorrow does require a substantial investment.
REFI was created to support the educational programs for both the students and staff in all 23 schools in Rockingham County. REFI provides funds for educational programs and activities which either have not been funded or have been under-funded by the normal operating budget. These funds will be used to facilitate student achievement and skill development, to recognize and encourage staff excellence and to expand community involvement from individuals, businesses and civic organizations.
