Scholarship Information
The Rockingham Educational Foundation, Inc. is proud to support the Rockingham County Public Schools. REFI is a 501 (c) 3, non-profit organization dedicated to raising funds and facilitating programs to enhance education for our students. REFI is proud to offer these scholarships that were established to honor or remember special people. Considerations for scholarships include:
The scholarships to be reviewed by the REFI selection committee are scholarships open to all four high schools. If a scholarship selected by the school’s selection committee requires an essay, that essay may be used for the scholarship reviewed by the REFI selection committee. Applicants must provide a photo and their high school transcript. All applicants must be a member in good standing in their senior class, must graduate to receive the scholarship, and must plan to attend an accredited institution of higher learning. Additional criteria pertaining to each scholarship is listed. Please check ALL scholarships for which you wish to be considered. Checks for scholarships will be paid directly to the college/university and sent to the recipient for delivery to the college in July. Once your scholarship funds are deposited into your school account, it is up to your college how they want to distribute the funds.

Deadline for submitting application is February 28, 2025.
An application checklist has been provided to help ensure each application is completed with all requirements met.
The community service/extracurricular list is to be downloaded, completed, and uploaded into the online application to turned in with the application. You can reference the scholarship descriptions for more information about each scholarship.

Broadway High School

Turner Ashby High School
- academic achievement at some level
- extracurricular participation
- citizenship/volunteerism
- scholarship selection committee interview
- one essay not to exceed 500 words entitled, “Why I Should be Considered for this Scholarship”
- at least two school officials’ letters of recommendation addressing the criteria
